The Studio
UI Sound Studios is a state-of-the-art boutique recording and production facility located in the What Are Records? / United Interests headquarters in downtown Boulder, Colorado. It features a professionally designed control room, large acoustically flat live room and wide selection of vintage and custom recording gear.
The studio is equipped to record solo artists or full bands of any genre and has hosted such notable artists as: Béla Fleck, Boubacar Diébaté, The Pirate Signal, members of Elephant Revival, The Motet, School Knights, Danielle At The Sandwich, Faceman, The Hollyfelds and numerous others.
We have reasonable hourly and day rates and can work with any budget.
Production
Producer Evan Reeves has worked with hundreds of artists over a career spanning 15 years. Guidance in songwriting, musicianship, self-producing, session planning, home recording, and industry networking are all part of the repertoire. Evan can help you accentuate the positive.
Mixing
We have one of the most diversely talented mixing staffs in Colorado. Mixing engineers Patrick G. Tracy, Ben Romsdahl and Tira Neal are experts across many genres. Whether you are a professional or an up-and-coming artist, a home recordist or an amateur enthusiast, UI Sound Studios’ talented mixers will make you sound your best. Mastering
In the modern, low-budget recording world we live in, many artists simply don’t have the resources to master. This important step in the creative process is often neglected. At UI Sound, we offer affordable mastering. Let your mix shine through our process of sonic sweetening and sculpting, as well as level continuity within a playlist. UI Sound Studios has one of Colorado’s finest pro audio and amplifier repair departments. Over their careers, our skilled technicians formerly were authorized to service over 42 manufacturers of musical equipment. Specializing in custom cable manufacturing, custom builds and modifications, our technicians can build your dream gear from scratch. We can also bring vintage amplifiers, pre amps, foot pedals and microphones back to their original, pristine condition.
